Browsing and hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Delivering pages involves processing technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. Service logs support delivery, security, and troubleshooting; their retention follows the hosting service’s applicable settings and policies. This processing supports my legitimate interest in running a reliable website. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It helps me understand visits and page usage, including page paths, referring websites, browser and device information, and approximate location derived by Google. It uses browser identifiers; these statistics are not a promise of anonymity. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in this website’s tracking configuration.

Consent is the basis for this optional processing. Declining does not restrict access. You can withdraw consent through Cookie settings in the footer; this stops this site’s analytics and removes its Google Analytics cookies. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already happened.

Google’s analytics data retention depends on the settings of the Analytics property. Google and Vercel may process data outside the EU/EEA under their applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. Details: Google’s privacy policy and Analytics retention information.

Cookies and browser storage

• ossianhempel.analytics-consent.v1: local browser storage that remembers your analytics choice for 180 days. It is used to respect your preference, rather than track page usage. If storage is unavailable, the choice applies only for the current page session.
• _ga and _ga_*: first-party Google Analytics cookies used only after consent to distinguish browsers and maintain visit information. This site configures a 60-day lifetime, which can be refreshed by subsequent visits.

You can also clear these entries in your browser. The site will ask again if your saved choice is cleared or expires.

Calculator and contact

The calorie calculator runs in your browser. Its weight, activity, and goal inputs are not submitted to a server or included in this site’s analytics events. It does not save those inputs after a reload.

If you email me, your email provider and mine process the message. I use your address and message to respond, based on my legitimate interest in handling correspondence, and keep relevant correspondence while it is needed for that purpose. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask about personal data I hold about you, or request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw analytics consent at any time. Email me using the address above. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority, including Sweden’s IMY.
